Some new old paintings

Just been adding a couple of pages, for the sake of completeness as much as anything (and to keep me occupied while Mrs T catches up on some emails). One page of paintings from 2010, and then another page of older stuff. Some of the latter is really old too, one of them is from 1980...

My easel lamp arrived today as well. Looking forward to taking that for a test drive, hopefully tomorrow evening, so there will be an update on the Spindlestone Farm painting with luck. The lamp doesn't have a daylight bulb in it unfortunately, but I should be able to get one of those easily enough. And it will beat painting by candlelight anyway.

Added a gallery page

The light still isn't up to evening painting (I'm waiting for a daylight easel lamp to arrive through the post, courtesy of those thieves at eBay), so no progress on my homage to Schmid. I have tweaked this blog a little though, with the addition of a gallery page. With startling originality, I decided to call it '2011 paintings'; for now, anyway. There may be a '2010 paintings' to follow, you never can tell.

This, like most things I do, is still very much a work in progress - and may well be for ever more! But the plan is to post up thumbnails of all my paintings in due course. We'll see how it pans out.

Spindlestone Farm

Here's a painting I started last weekend, it's after a work by Richard Schmid - an artist I greatly admire. Still a work in progress, obviously. I find that the light in (what I laughingly call) my studio is not good enough for painting in the evenings, so not much more is likely to happen to this one until the weekend.

It's oils on gesso'ed hardboard, 18 x 12".  The original is 30 x 20, if I remember rightly.
